A soft glow continued to emanate on the horizon and around the lone rocky mountain point in the otherwise vast, dusty desert when we exited the British DFAC.

Being stranded in another airport was eerily similar to being stranded at The Hub. We quickly ran out of ideas for things to do. Other than hit the gym, there wasn’t much else for us to do. The crew was on alert status, meaning that 12 hours after our landing, we could be called and expected to take off as soon as possible. At some point, we would have to get some sleep prior to that fateful call recalling us to operations.

So we returned to the other containers that served as our home for the night.
